Sprint Sleds
Full Bed Sprint Sled
Half Bed Sprint Sled
The Sprint Sled is the sled most commonly associated with modern mushing. The runnered sled was developed in the 1920's, before this, mushers generally used the wooden toboggan style and sledge style sleds. Musher's preferred the runnered design for traveling on established trails, as less surface area of the runners allowed the sled to glide easier. Not to mention, the basket design was significantly lighter, providing a faster, more maneuverable sled.
Our Sprint Sleds are built out of quality materials and are designed to last. We try to use as little hardware as possible and prefer to lash the sleds together instead. This gives the sled more flexibility and makes it very easy to repair on the trail should you have a mishap (even the best mushers have the occassional accident).
The sled shown to the right is our Standard Sprint Sled with a half bed. Our Standard Sprint Sled can also be made with a full bed that extends to the front of the sled. Included with our Standard Sprint Sled is a Board Brake with metal claw and a Rope Bridle.
